TAWAS CITY – MyMichigan Health Foundation has named Dr. Donald Ellis III as the recipient of the 2026 Beacon of Hope Award, a distinguished honor recognizing individuals whose leadership, compassion, and commitment have made a meaningful impact on patients and communities served by MyMichigan Health.

Dr. Ellis practices and is welcoming new patients at the MyMichigan Family Medicine office located in MyMichigan Health Park Oscoda. He has served on numerous committees, including the Past Medical Executive Committee, Peer Review, and the AMG State Medical Board. In addition, he currently serves as vice president of the Oscoda School Board. Dr. Ellis’ dedication and leadership have been recognized with several honors, including being named a Lighthouse Award recipient in 2017 and Medical Student Teacher of the Year for the 1998–1999 academic year.

“Dr. Ellis exemplifies the compassion, leadership, and commitment that define the Beacon of Hope Award,” said Mike Erickson, president, MyMichigan Medical Centers in Tawas, Towne Centre, Saginaw and Standish. “His commitment and dedication to patient care and the communities he serves truly reflect MyMichigan Health’s Purpose of ‘Creating Healthy Communities – Together,’ making him exceptionally deserving of this recognition.”
